The LED's of the Snickerdoodle will sometimes emit a heartbeat-like pattern that the community sometimes calls "breathing". The default firmware of the platform controller causes this behavior in the white LED when a bit stream is loaded on to the FPGA. Subsequently the design, with the help of the platform controller, can alter the behavior of any LED.

  • TODO: add pointer to a description of the various light patterns
  • TODO: add reference to the original documentation of this behavior and description of the pattern produced when the load completes, fails or hangs.
